Motorized Pediatric Stander Kit

Problem Statement:

Pediatric standers became a crucial tool for children living with cerebral palsy (CP) Ffrom both a therapeutic and socialization perspective. Unfortunately, the majority of these standers require a caregiver or family member to move the stander from place to place. For a variety of reasons there are no motorized pediatric standers that would allow a child to move in a self-directed fashion. Motivated by the goal of “letting all kids be kids”, the objective is to design a new pediatric standing experience that would enhance the quality of life for children in this situation.

Current Solution:

A prototype kit that allows parents and therapists to modify and motorize existing standers for children with CP has been developed that would enable children to explore their environment autonomously.
