Celebrate Independence Day
every day…

“We want to change the stereotype that says that people with unique needs can’t really achieve their aspirations. If you work at it, you can accomplish anything.” – Latrice

Latrice, who was featured in one of our earliest Independence Day campaigns, is a vocal advocate who uses every opportunity she can to educate others that people of all abilities have powerful stories to share. She helped create a unique creative writing partnership between CP Rochester and the University of Rochester called the Inspiration Project, which pairs program participants with college students. Now in it’s 14th year, Latrice remains an integral part of the project as it continues to highlight the experiences and aspirations of people with special needs.

What does INDEPENDENCE mean to you?

Is it the ability to take part in activities you enjoy, to choose how and where you spend each day? Is it the ability to be able to connect with others, to know that you are part of a community?

Each summer we feature the stories of several people who have stayed active in the community, achieved their goals, advocated for themselves and others, learned new skills, and more with the help of Al Sigl Member Agencies. Through your generosity, you have helped these individuals – and so many others – lead more independent lives.

Yet with each new year our agencies, and the more than 55,000 individuals they serve, continue to face new challenges. They need your support now more than ever.

Please consider making your gift today. Each gift makes a difference.

Yes, I will help Al Sigl Celebrate Independence Day every day!

Your gift today will provide critical help for our seven Member Agencies and the children and adults they serve here in our community.
